patch work tote

This is the patch work bag I just made.
It's a very simple tote, and it has

side hock which you can use when you don't have much items inside.
It will look like this

If you don't feel like this colourful, you can reverse it into a simple version.

A simple tote with Japanese hiragana senhouse.

The Liberty patch sewing box

I'm now working on this cute sewing box!
I gathered my yellowish liberty fabrics for the patchwork.
I still need to make a tray and a drawer for it.

There's a wadding underneath so it is soft to touch.
The soft lid with a leather handle makes it very attractive!

Two purses

This is the purse I've just finished.
The red fabric is the Meisen antique silk kimono.
You can attach a strap to use it as a bag.

It has 2 zipper pockets, one zipper coin pocket which can be accessed from rear, a pen holder, and 12 card pockets.

Same design purse with black fabric and this gorgeous blue Meisen antique silk kimono.

new bag and new invention?

This bag is for the event.
The sashiko stitch on the right side of the flap is called "arare-kikkou".
The left side fabric is the Meisen antique silk kimono, and I've ironed on the interfacing at the back for extra strength as antique silk is quite delicate.

I've screen printed my logo. ; )

I've used this crackled effect tan leather which I acquired recently.

Did you know there's another way to use this ipad case?
My husband came home one day and told me his students had came up with all sorts of different way of using this case.

The most clever and simple one he could remember was......

You just use it upside down!
The pad slides down a bit, but if you don't mind it, it's a very good position when reading an article on the screen!

work work work!!

These are some of the ipad cases I was making the last 7 days.
My husband had ordered 15 of these with an original print on the flap.
The word on the flap says "Japanese" by the way.
They are for Language Department of the school.
If only he had given me 3 weeks notice, I could have enjoyed making them, but, as always, he had come to me with the order just a week before he needed them...
Anyway, I've made it in time, and I was so happy to see them gone, out of my site!!

This is the back side, and I've used 3 different patterns.
Not all of them are here as I didn't have time to take pictures...

And this is the inside of the case.
Well, I wont' be making more of these for a while!!

Yesterday, I was so happy that my big order was finished,
I treated myself by making apron with my favourite fabrics!

The font says "Hinata Cafe" in Japanese.
It's for our member who will be working in the kitchen at the event.

BB bag with liberty and leather

This is the bag I made on request.
I named this design a "BB Bag" in my Japanese blog and it stands for
Bo-han & Benri (meaning anti-theft & Convenient).
But here, it stands for "Best Buddy"!

new bag with blue meisen

I've made the lid smaller with this one, and added a leather part.
I'm not really sure about it's shape, but, I actually love it! ; )

Saturday 11 August 2012

more bag making!

I love this sashiko design so I'm making few items with it.
This will be the accordion type purse bag, and

This will be a casual shoulder bag!
Oh I just love these Meisen fabrics!!

new Ipad case and about the event

This is the new Ipad (2&3) case bag I made recently with beautiful linen and the Liberty fabric!

Very simple colour combination.

I just realised that I haven't written about the Hinata cafe event in this blog, so here it is.

We'll be having this hand craft event with some workshop and delicious Japanese foods on 8th September 2012 from 10:00 - 16:00.
Venue: Perth Waldorf School
14 Gwilliam Dr, Bibra Lake (next to the red rooster).
You can park your car right at the end of the Gwilliam Dr.
There's a big car park by the lake.

Hope to see you there!

New bag for the event

This is the new bag I made for the Hinata Cafe event.
Don't you just love this Liberty fabric?

This zipper pocket at the back is the magical point of this bag!
If you want to know what I'm talking about, just come to the event and see it for yourself!

Side view.

I've made this leather strip with linen at the back.

new bags

This is the new design I've made few weeks ago and just put it out in the auction.

This is the back side.

It has a leather handle.

It has a zipper compartment and no zipped one.

You put your purse and other valuables here for double protection,

but only you can take it out in one step through the back zipper!
Very handy when you are traveling!

This is the second one which I have changed it's size just a little.
I actually like this modified size and will stick with it.

This is the back zipper with the same function as above.

This is also in the auction.
I'll be making few of this bag for the event!
